The historic details, including original ceiling tiles and exposed brick, blend brilliantly with the site’s modern finishes, making it the perfect backdrop for your next social, wedding, anniversary or corporate event.
In partnership with Hamby Catering & Events, Charleston’s oldest locally owned and operated catering company, The Rutledge Room’s on-site culinary offerings can be summed up in three words: timeless, Southern and inventive. On-site guest accommodations can be facilitated through Stay Duvet, the city’s leader in curated and quality vacation rentals. The Rutledge Room can host up to 150 guests and comes equipped with an in-house venue coordinator, rentals, and extensive A/V capabilities to maximize the space and your experience.

The Rutledge Room is thrilled to have Hamby Catering & Events as its partner and on-site caterer. Hamby Catering’s storied history with Charleston dates back to 1979 and can be summed up in their tagline: “Timeless. Southern. Inventive.” Guests can expect elevated adaptions of Southern classics, and options spanning from light bites, to stations, to full plated spreads – and let’s not forget, decadent desserts! Hamby Catering’s professional and creative approach to each event has cultivated clients for life, and has led to them being named Charleston’s Choice Caterer seven years in a row.
207 Rutledge Avenue has had the tradition of hospitality instilled in its foundation since its building in 1855. We plan to carry that tradition through our operations, partnerships and event executions. The three unique spaces of The Rutledge Room include an entry room, formal dining room and enclosed private piazza - each intimate enough for small gatherings, yet together robust enough leave a lasting impression.
With just over 3,000 feet of total event space, The Rutledge Room has been outfitted with extensive A/V features to maximize the use of the venue and streamline set up for outside talent and performers.
